Have you ever wondered who the Eastern Orthodox were? Or why there is such a chasm between the Western Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox?

Before I began my journey, I never really knew who the Orthodox were. All I heard was that they were terrible heretics who defied the Pope of Rome who was supposed to reign supreme over all of Christendom.

When I started asking questions and learning that the answers weren’t grounded in historical truths, a lot of scales began to fall of my eyes.

If you are curious, take a listen to Father Paul Truebenbach of Saints Peter and Paul out in Utah. He has a very gentle spirit, and, unlike every Catholic and Protestant apologist I’ve ever heard, doesn’t put down those who are not Orthodox. He tries to give a balanced perspective, having experienced much of what he preaches.

While it is long (a little over an hour), the beauty of YouTube is that you can stop it and pick up where you left off later on.

Please enjoy!
