What if the “social” in “social media” just became “media”? Would that surprise you?

And have you ever thought about how this way of sharing has changed how we see human dignity? Do we view our neighbors—whether nearby or far away—differently now, thanks to the influences we follow online? Or are we still able to look past those labels and see the real person underneath?

Has any of this helped us find better ways to strengthen our relationships? Did it become mostly just a way to share our opinions and vent frustrations?

Isn’t it really more about communication instead of building a community?

And what is its true affect on us?

Sometimes, we don’t really notice what’s happening around us or realize how much those we choose to spend time with affect us. What we see and hear feeds into our hearts and minds. Over time, we start to become like the things we focus on—whether that’s our relationships or what interests us most.

All of this shapes our feelings, attitudes, and how we see the world. We’re not immune to any of it.

Maybe it’s time for us to pause and think about what we’re putting into our minds and hearts—beyond just what we’re eating. There’s a real sense of awakening happening right now, especially among young people, a longing for more than just chasing after material things, fame, or high-paying jobs. The excitement and hard work don’t always bring lasting happiness once we achieve those goals.
