I had just come back from the grocery store with a real deal on ribeye and a new air fryer. I opened up the package and it smelled strange. Some was a bit brown. The dogs loved that part. I figured I’d cook both steaks to make sure it didn’t go completely bad.
So I turned on the gas grill, plopped the steaks on the grill, salted them, and left for 15 minutes.
When I came back…well…let’s just say the conversation I had with my grill-friendly son-in-law was enlnightening.
Me: So I remembered how you used to say you’d burn off the droppings, etc from your grill instead of scrubbing it down? I have to say, I inadvertently did it today. Two rib eyes and 15 minutes later, the grill caught fire. I unhooked the hot hot hot tank, carefully lifted the lid letting the fire slowly go out, and found two very tiny carbonated steaks happily charring on the grates. Needless to say, cleaning the grill was a breeze!
