I saw this sign and got the biggest kick out of it! But I’m not quite sure how to read it. It seems to be warning us about something, but I’m not exactly sure how to interpret it. Whatever the intended message is, it definitely piqued my curiosity, leaving me with more questions than answers.
Is it in invitation to try to run them over?
- Is it that the dogs, children, and other animals in this area are slow moving?
- Are they unable to process information at a rapid pace?
- Or is it a flag to drivers that there are slow creatures within the fenced area? If so, is it to point them out so we can all gawk at them and slow down traffic?
- Maybe the drivers are being politely reminded to ease off the gas pedal for the dogs, children, and other animals practicing for a marathon in the area. It’s like they’re being told, “Hey, slow and steady wins the race, remember?” (But then again, perhaps revving things up is just the nudge those furry and pint-sized critters need to step on the gas. Who knows, maybe they don’t want to be the last ones crossing the finish line on their big race day! Help train them to reach their real goal!)
- And if the critters are all slow moving, does that mean it’s an open invitation to play slow-motion bumper cars with them? That might seems rather fun to some, but, in reality, not much of a challenge.
- If they are just not getting it at the pace that life demands, that seem unfair to point that fact out, doesn’t it?
- Is this a farm for nurturing intellectually challenged animals and children? And if so, why on earth would they proudly advertise that?
- If there are kids and pets running amok behind those fences, it’s probably a good time to hit the brakes and save the neighborhood from becoming a zoo!
- Do these things suddenly pull off ninja moves from behind a fence post and play a risky game of chicken with the oncoming traffic?
- And why on earth would they even entertain the idea? Just for kicks? I mean, come on, the sign clearly says they’re slow, so hitting them would be as easy as, well, shooting ducks in a barrel!
Which reminds me of a squirrel back in the mountains of the Appalachians. It would jump out of its tree at oncoming traffic just for the thrill of bounding off the hood of a passing car.
Weird.
But, then again, it was a squirrel.
So, back to the sign.
No clue. But trying to figure it out certainly was entertaining! I still get a giggle out of it. (Probably because I think too much… LOL!)
